Office Peels

Light facial peels using physician strength glycolic acid are available in Dr. Jones’s office. Glycolic acid is a mild acid derived from sugar cane. It is one of a group of substances known as Alpha Hydroxy Acids found in natural sources such as apples, fruits, and wine. Glycolic acid has been adapted to help treat the appearance of skin conditions such as acne and problem skin, wrinkles and fine lines, dry skin, dark spots on the face and hands, clogged pores and oily skin, eye, lip and mouth lines.

Glycolic acid works by loosening and removing dead cell buildup on the surface of the skin. It also helps unclog pores, remove dry, scaly, dull-looking skin, and allows moisturizers and other skin conditioners to work better. Glycolic acid may be used in combination with a mild cosmetic bleaching agent to help fade dark spots on the skin.
